QUALITY AND SAFETY

OUR COMMITMENT: "QUALITY AT THE BEST PRICE"

To fulfil this commitment, we all work under a strict system coordinated by Quality Department based on five core elements: 

1. Procurement management focused on guaranteeing product quality  

- We select providers with the facilities and means to guarantee control of the production processes. 

- We have quality agreements with fresh produce and own brand providers.

2. Best Practices Plan in all our stores. We have a self-control system in place (based on HACCP, Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point) whose priority is to maintain the cold chain and hygiene, both of facilities and equipment, and in product handling. 

To verify it, we have an internal team of auditors with degrees in Veterinary Medicine, Food Science and Technology, Biology … and certified external laboratories for product analysis. 

3. Crisis Management. We have an alert network that enables us to act immediately in all our stores, withdrawing any product that does not fit the required quality and safety standards.

4. Continuous training. At Makro we believe quality is provided by professionals. For this reason, they receive specialised training and participate in all quality improvement projects. 

5. Communications with our customers.
To achieve excellent quality, we share all related projects we implement with our customers.
