Beef The colour for each category of animal ranges from pink to pale pink for veal and yearlings to red for heifers and oxen. The appearance and amount of fat vary depending on the part: consult the person in charge of the Meat section in your Makro store. Vacuum-packed meat is dark in colour due to the absence of oxygen during the packaging process and regains its initial colour within about one hour of being in contact with the oxygen in the air. |

Pork Has a reddish colour with white areas, depending on the presence of fat. |
Lamb Varies in colour from pearl white to pale pink. Covered in hard, white fat and firm flesh. Has a soft, slightly damp texture. |
